How do you visualize a recession indicator? I set out to answer that with this awesome assignment by Amy Lombard. The lead art for this story was initially going to be an illustration, but I saw an opportunity to do something vibe-y with photographs. Taking cues from fashion and street photography and a more magazine-style approach, I think the final product is smart and eye-catching.
